Introduction
Special bus ticket diwali is one of the most celebrated festivals in India. During this special occasion, many people travel to their hometowns to celebrate the festival with their family and friends. Due to the increase in travel demand, transport departments and private bus operators often arrange special bus services on popular routes.
However, bus ticket prices may increase during the festive season because many people book their tickets at the same time. The good news is that passengers can compare different bus services, check special government buses, and book tickets online to find affordable travel options.
In this article, we will explain how to find Diwali special buses, compare ticket prices, and book special bus tickets step by step.
1. Check Diwali Special Bus Announcements
The first step is to check whether special buses are available for your destination. During Diwali, state transport corporations may announce additional buses to manage the increase in passengers.
For travellers in Tamil Nadu, check official announcements from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC).
Visit the official website:
https://www.tnstc.in/
Look for information about festival special buses, additional services, departure locations, travel dates, and ticket booking availability.
Always confirm the latest announcement because the number of buses, routes, and fares may vary from year to year.
2. Choose Your Starting Point and Destination
Before booking a ticket, decide where you will start your journey and where you want to go.
For example:
– From Chennai to Madurai
– From Chennai to Tirunelveli
– From Chennai to Coimbatore
– From Chennai to Trichy
– From Bengaluru to Chennai
Choose your boarding point and destination carefully. Some cities have multiple special bus terminals, so check the exact boarding location before making a payment.
3. Select Your Travel Date
Choose the date you want to travel for Diwali. If possible, check several nearby dates because ticket availability and prices may differ.
Popular travel dates can sell out quickly, especially just before the festival. Booking early may give you more choices, although low fares are not guaranteed.
Check the departure time, estimated arrival time, and boarding point before proceeding.
4. Compare Bus Ticket Prices
One of the best ways to find an affordable ticket is to compare available buses before booking.
You can check government bus services and reputable online booking platforms such as:
– Official TNSTC website: https://www.tnstc.in/
– RedBus: https://www.redbus.in/
– AbhiBus: https://www.abhibus.com/
Enter your starting city, destination, and travel date. The platforms may display available buses, departure times, seat types, fares, and operator details.
Compare the final ticket price, including any applicable booking fees. A cheaper ticket is useful, but make sure the bus operator and boarding point are suitable for your journey.
5. How to Book a Diwali Special Bus Ticket Online
Follow these simple steps to book your ticket:
Step 1: Open the official bus booking website or a trusted booking application.
Step 2: Enter your departure city and destination.
Step 3: Select your preferred travel date.
Step 4: Tap the search button to view available buses.

Keep your electronic ticket or booking confirmation accessible on your phone.
6. Tips to Find Lower-Priced Bus Tickets
If your main goal is to travel at a lower price during Diwali, keep these tips in mind.
Book Early: Popular routes may become fully booked as the festival approaches. Booking early can provide more options.
Compare Government and Private Buses: Check the applicable fares on government-operated buses and compare them with private services.
Check Different Departure Times: If your schedule is flexible, compare buses departing at different times.
Look for Official Offers: Some booking platforms may offer promotional discounts or eligible payment offers. Read the conditions before using them.
Check Nearby Boarding Points: A different boarding point may be more convenient or have additional services, but confirm the location before booking.
Review the Final Fare: Check the total payable amount instead of relying only on the advertised starting price.
Avoid Unnecessary Booking Charges: Compare the final amount across legitimate booking options, including applicable convenience fees.
Remember that special festival buses do not always have lower fares. Confirm the actual fare before paying.
7. How to Book Government Special Buses
Passengers travelling within Tamil Nadu can check the official TNSTC booking service for available routes and services.
If a particular Diwali special bus is not listed, check official transport department announcements or contact the relevant bus station for information.
Do not assume that every additional festival bus is available for online booking. Booking arrangements may vary depending on the service.
8. Important Things to Check Before Payment
Before completing your booking, verify the following details:
– Passenger name and other required details
– Correct travel date
– Departure and arrival locations
– Boarding point and departure time
– Total ticket price
– Bus operator and service type
– Cancellation and refund rules
– Ticket confirmation status
Use only trusted websites and applications. Never share your OTP, UPI PIN, password, or other confidential banking information with anyone claiming to help you book a ticket.
9. What to Do If Tickets Are Sold Out
If your preferred bus is fully booked, check other departure times, nearby boarding points, or alternative bus operators.
You can also check whether additional special services have been announced. Availability can change, so revisit the official booking platform when appropriate.
If you cannot find a suitable bus, consider other legitimate transport options and compare their total costs before deciding.
Conclusion
Special bus booking a Diwali ticket at an affordable price becomes easier when you plan early, compare available services, and use trusted booking platforms.
Start by checking official festival bus announcements, select your travel date, compare fares, and carefully review all journey details before making payment.
Whether you are travelling from Chennai to Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, or another destination, a little planning can help you find a suitable service for your journey.
Travel safely, book through trusted platforms, and enjoy a happy Diwali with your family and friends!
